Books Vice VersaMarjorie Garber on Bisexuality Why call a book about bisexuality Vice Versa? Doesn't the very phrase suggest only two possibilities? Male or female, gay or straight, monogamous or nonmonogamous, adolescent or mature, normal or perverse? What is the force of that "or," that sense of inevitable alternatives? Or is it this very structure of the "versa" that in itself constitutes a "vice"? And where is the place of bisexuality, which, despite or perhaps because of the "bi" in its name, presents itself in the popular imagination as a third choice? Gay, straight, or bi?

Writings News Bint El Nas - Queer Arab Women, tg inclusive Bint El Nas - Queer Arab Women, tg inclusive This site is designed to serve the needs and interests of women who identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and/or queer (including female-to-male and male-to-female trans* people in any state of transition), and who are identified ethnically or culturally with the Arab world, regardless of where they live. This includes women of mixed ethnic heritage, and women who are from non-Arab minority groups that exist within the Arab world. While inevitably terminology is going to disappoint us and may feel imposed, we felt it important to name the groups that we intend to serve as best we can. Email
Writings links Bisexuality: The Vogue Sexuality Loosely interpreted, bisexuality is not only the possession of attraction for members of more than one sex, but also the potential to feel so. For some individuals, bisexuality is a life-long commitment. For others, it is a step on the continuum between homosexuality and heterosexuality. Recent research is even suggesting the intriguing idea that heterosexuality and homosexuality are phases on the way to bisexuality. NA
